I built this car to look like it could have been a race car in the early to mid 50's. I stripped it all back to either bare metal or sound original paint, dragged any filler that was in it out, carried out some minor welding to the rear lower valance corners and rear wings. It has never been welded anywhere previously so is a super solid original car. I then had the original factory Kingston grey paint matched and painted the exterior of the car. I knocked some of the worst dents out a bit better but did not put filler anywhere as i wanted the car to look like a race car survivor that had been well used and abused. So the bodywork is a bit lumpy and bumpy but it adds to the character. I flatted the paint slightly after painting it with scotchbrite and flatting compound to give it an old paint look, It worked out great i think and looks like it could have been painted many years ago.

The underside and chassis is just as solid as the upper body, the whole car has been waxoiled in all cavities and the whole underside.

Mechanically i fitted a later 235ci(1954) straight six stovebolt engine with Fenton 2 in to 1 added a 5 speed manual T5 World class gearbox and a Pontiac Firebird rear axle. It still has the original coil spring front suspension and leaves at the rear. I fitted a Landrover dual circuit brake master cylinder and 1954 Chevy front drum brakes. rear brakes are the standard Pontiac items which i fitted new cylinders to. The brakes work fine and the gearing is great, it's does 68mph at 2,000RPM in 5th and will return 30MPG on a run.

Tyres are all Coker Classic white wall crossplies with the white wall on the inside, rears are 7.60 x 15", Fronts are 5.60 x 15". they all have loads of tread left.

I fitted a new wiring loom with modern fusebox and converted it to 12v electrics with a new alternator. It has a MOONEYES Rev counter, Oil pressure and water Temp gauge.

I have a Twin carb manifold and extra carb that comes with it.

Interior is basic, It just has a front bench seat(because it's a business coupe). This is currently being retrimmed and should be back by Monday(hence there are no photos of it, will add some). There is no headlining or carpet to cut down on weight. it could be retrimmed if the new owner likes or just a roll cage fitted to continue the racer look.

It is the current record holder in its VHRA class(L6/K) running a speed of 78.56mph on the sand at Pendine last year. plenty left in it though especially once the twin carbs are fitted.

I'm selling to fund a new project, This car is great fun and i would drive it anywhere.
